
Magdalena Dunaj is an anthropologist with an interest in deaf studies. Her PhD dissertation, GŁUCHY-ŚWIAT. Głuchota w perspektywie antropologii zaangażowanej, was published in 2015. Since 2009, she has been cooperating with the Polish Deaf Association. She is currently a lecturer at the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Polish Studies, Unit for General Linguistics and Sign Linguistics. Her recent project investigates deaf internet folklore, in particular deaf personal narratives.
As part of MEDEP, Magdalena will examine the personal deaf narratives on AIDS to understand how communication in sign language has shaped access to media and communication technologies during the HIV/AIDS epidemics.
